Custom Pinewood Derby Patches

Pinewood Derby Gear FAQ
What’s the difference between racer patches and custom derby patches?
Racer patches are ready-made designs for each rank that you can order in any quantity from the Trading Post. Custom derby patches are made for your pack, with your pack number, year, and design, starting at 50 patches.
When should we order for a January or February derby?
Custom patches take about 4–5 weeks, so order by early December for a January derby. Custom t-shirts have a guaranteed in-hand date when you order. Ready-made racer patches, banners, and plaques skip the design step.
Where do derby patches and medals go on the uniform?
A derby patch is worn as a temporary patch on the right pocket, one at a time. Pinewood Derby medals are pinned above the left pocket. See our Cub Scout patch placement guide.
Can we put our pack number on the patches and shirts?
Yes. Custom patches and t-shirts can include your pack number, year, and town. Many banners on the Trading Post can be personalized too.
