Boy Scouts Participate In 2010 International Coastal Cleanup
September 22, 2010

The 2010 International Coastal Cleanup was held last weekend in communities all around the globe.

Every year, volunteers gather to help clean up coastal communities, lakes, rivers, parks and other public areas in an attempt to keep our world a cleaner and safer place to live.

ClassB was proud to have taken part in the event this year as well. It was a fun and exciting day for all of us.

But what made us even more proud was the fact that there were Boy Scout Troops all over our area doing their part in the Coastal Cleanup and making a big difference in our community.

And it wasn’t just Boy Scouts either, there were Cub Scouts, Venturing Crews and many other youth organizations joining in the cleanup effort.

We hope to see you at next year’s event! But you don’t have to wait a whole year. Contact your local community and you can set up a Conservation Good Turn and clean up your local community anytime!

ClassB Targets Local Community In 2010 Coastal Cleanup
September 22, 2010

We live in a fragile environment. Keeping our neighborhoods clean is one of the best ways that we can help our communities prosper and continue to be wonderful places to work and play. And keeping the oceans and waterways clean also provides a safe haven for our local marine life, and creates a much better, cleaner world for all of us.

On Saturday, ClassB employees gathered with other volunteers in our local community to participate in the 2010 International Coastal Cleanup, a worldwide event held annually since 1988. The goal of the event is to get together as many volunteers as possible to help clean up the coastal areas, lakes, rivers, streams, school grounds, parks and roadways in their local areas. The cleanup is usually followed by food, fun, celebration and an inspiring sense of pride, knowing you accomplished a special goal.

We’d also like to point out that there were several Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Cub Scout and 4-H volunteer groups helping out all over our county, across America and around the World. Great job to all of you!

Last year, during the 2009 cleanup, approximately 500,000 volunteers removed 7.4 million pounds of debris, in 108 countries, 45 U.S. States and the District of Columbia. This year, the turnout was expected to be even greater – but we’ll have to wait for that data to come in.

This was the first year that ClassB has been involved in our local Coastal Cleanup and we plan on participating for many more years to come. We are both proud and honored to be a part of such an amazing gathering of people all over the World, working for one common goal.

Customer Spotlight – The Francis Family Reunion
September 15, 2010

Francis Family ReunionFor years, ClassB has been known for producing quality custom Boy Scout (and now 4H) t-shirts. What many of you didn’t know is that we also produce quite a lot of t-shirts for family reunions as well. Our very first customer spotlight brings us a story about the reunion of a very special family. And according to Yvonne, the event coordinator and proud family member, the way they found each other is equally impressive. “The Francis family reunion was the first reunion of family to be found through genealogy research. The family had originated out of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia in the early 1800’s, so that’s where the event was held.” “We had a relatively small turn out, approximately 35 attendees, but it was a wonderful event. Finding new family is always fun, and we spent time learning about our family’s history. Attendees and people who were not able to make this one have already asked to have another event next year in Washington, DC. We will be ordering our reunion t-shirts from you guys again next summer!”

Yvonne went on to tell us, “I want to let you know how much I appreciate your company and employees. The quality of your shirts are amazing and your staff is professional, friendly, and go above and beyond to work with your customers. I have used your service several times and sing your praises to everyone. Thanks for making my events “pop” with your products and designs.” Thank you Yvonne. We’re glad that we could be part of such a special event and we wish you all the best with your future reunions. Make sure you send us more pictures – we love seeing them! By the way, if you’re planning a family reunion and you’re thinking about building a website for the event, you have to take a look at what Yvonne did with the Francis’ site. Can I use the Olympic rings in my design? How about the words “Olympic” or “Olympics?”
September 10, 2010

No. Federal law prohibits the use of terms related to the Olympics and symbols used by the United States Olympic Committee.

For more information, please read the U.S. Olympic Committee’s guidelines for using their marks or, for complete information, read the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act.

If you have questions or would like to apply for special permission to use the intellectual property of the U.S. Olympic Committee, please contact the Media & Public Affairs office at the USOC.

I’m with a school, government, or non-profit organization, can I get a discount?
September 10, 2010

We offer the same low prices to all our customers.

Since most of our prices are set specifically for the non-profit market (where budgets can be very tight), there is simply no room to negotiate lower prices for any reason. You’ll be amazed at the high quality and great service you receive from us at low prices we offer.

Can I have my embroidery tape?
September 10, 2010

No. Your embroidered design is created free of charge just for production of your order and is optimized for our hardware, software, and procedures.

The embroidery file/tape is not useable by any other embroidery system. Any other embroidery business would need to completely redo the digitizing to match their machinery and procedures so the file would have no value.

Can I have the internal artwork files, film, or other production materials used in my order?
September 10, 2010

No. These items are needed for production of your order and are created free of charge because they either

a) only have value in our production methods or
b) are immediately recycled to reduce costs and reduce environmental impact.

Many of our procedures are unique in our industry. We have an exceptionally high regard for minimizing the environmental impact of screen printing and embroidery. Our production materials simply cannot be used in other situations. If we were able to release production materials, the correct mix of software, hardware, and knowledge to make use of the materials just don’t exist outside of our company. In the case of artwork files, you can use the art proof images for nearly anything.

Can I use the artwork from my order on my website/newsletter/flyer?
September 10, 2010

Yes, in many cases you can! You can use the image posted online (as part of the artwork approval) for practically anything. However, If your image contains a licensed image or property from any other company or organization then you must get permission from them to use the image for your website/newsletter/flyer. Having permission to reproduce images that are copy written or trademarked on your t-shirt order does not grant permission for any other use.  Always check with us or the copy write or trademark holder for more information. Many customers like to post the artwork on their website or put the artwork on a flyer to promote the resale of the product. You are allowed to use the proof artwork to do those things. It’s important to note that we retain all rights and ownership of our original artwork and designs. We retain ownership and all rights to our original artwork because our experience provides the best means of protecting your designs. If the artwork we produced is stolen by a third party, you’ll have a knowledgeable ally with a vested interest in helping you to protect the artwork.  If you think your usage of the art may infringe on this, just give us a call and we’ll discuss your needs.

Can I have my screen? Do I own my screen?
September 10, 2010

Your design will be screen printed using modern aluminum retensionable frames. The screen is tightened each run for the highest quality print. Your design is placed in the metal frame, your shirts are printed, and then your design is immediately removed.  Typically each frame is used 3-4 times per week.

The traditional screen printing method of putting your design in a wooden frame is not used by our shop. Wooden frames allow the quality of the print to worsen between the first shirt printed and the last shirt printed.

This method of using a small number of aluminum screens versus wooden screens also saves space, cost and trees. This removes the need for us to charge you any kind of screen charges and ensures that reorders look just as great as the initial order.

Would you like to learn more? The inventor of this type of frame describes in detail the advantages of aluminum frames on their website (link opens in new window).

Can I add more shirts after I have placed my order?
September 10, 2010

After an order has been placed, for our Standard Service, you have two business days to make adjustments or changes to the sizes, without affecting the arrival date.

Changes for a 9 business day Priority service order should be made within 24 hours of placing the order so the arrival date is not affected.

Changes for a 6 business day Rush order, changes should be made the same day as place of order so the arrival date is not affected.

In any case, we will do our best to add the garments you need.  We will let you know if the order is delayed ahead of time.

You can contact your sales representative by email or call for faster assistance.
