What do NYLT course directors usually order?
Most courses order a course patch, neckerchiefs, and staff shirts. Many add embroidered staff jackets or polos, name tags, and a graduation gift like a coin or water bottle.
Can you use the official NYLT logo?
Yes. As an Official Scouting America Licensee, we can put the NYLT logo on your course patches, neckerchiefs, and apparel, alongside your council name or course design.
Where does the NYLT patch go on the uniform?
An NYLT course patch is generally worn as a temporary patch, centered on the right uniform pocket. Uniform rules change, so check the current Scouting America Guide to Awards and Insignia, or ask your course director.
How far ahead should we order?
Start the patch 6–8 weeks before you need it, because patch design approvals take the most time. Shirts are quicker and follow the approved patch design. Plan to have staff gear ready for your first staff development weekend.
Is the design really free?
Yes. Councils get full art services at no charge. We’ll design your course patch and matching gear, and you approve an online proof before anything is made.
How does council pricing work?
