The 6 Tips Before the Box Arrives Hand-Out Day If Something Is Wrong FAQ

6 Tips for Unpacking and Handing Out Group T-Shirts

  1. Count first. Carefully count all the shirts, by size, to make sure your entire order is complete and accurate.
  2. Bag and label. Using your sign-up sheet, place each person’s shirt in a bag and write their name on it. One bag per person. If someone ordered more than one garment, put them all in the same bag.
  3. Add the extras now. If you want to include anything else for each person, such as tickets, a schedule or candy, put it in the bag at this point.
  4. One person hands out the bags. When it is time to distribute, only allow one person to hand them out.
  5. Check on the spot. Have everyone double-check their bag as soon as they receive it.
  6. Hold the extras. Do not give away extra shirts, exchange sizes or modify the shirts in any way until every shirt has been distributed and accounted for.

We Do This Ourselves

When ClassB held a family day at Busch Gardens in Tampa, we designed and printed custom t-shirts for our employees and their families. Even though production is right here in the same building, we received the shirts just like you would if we shipped them to you.

With so many shirts to keep track of, we needed to stay organized. So we did exactly what we suggest our customers do. It worked great.

Before the Box Arrives

A smooth hand-out starts with a good list.

  • Keep one sign-up sheet with each person’s name, size and quantity, and whether they have paid. That sheet becomes your packing list.
  • Collect sizes in writing, and point people to the t-shirt size charts so nobody guesses.
  • Order a few extras in the larger sizes. They give you room to swap after everyone has their shirt.
  • Have bags and a marker ready. Gallon zipper bags or small paper bags both work.

On Hand-Out Day

Handing out custom shirts for your event is exciting, and people are going to want their shirts right away. If you are not careful, you can end up with a big mess.

  • Sort the bags alphabetically or by family, team or patrol, so each one is easy to find.
  • Check names off your sheet as each bag goes out.
  • Make swaps last. Once everyone has a shirt, use your extras to fix any size problems.

Following these six tips puts each shirt in the hands of the right person and saves you from sorting out discrepancies later.

If Something Is Wrong With Your Order

Read the paperwork in the box when you open it, then count. If the count is off or something does not look right, call us at 1-321-252-7727 before you hand anything out. It is much easier to fix a problem while the whole order is still together.

We stand behind every order. And if you missed someone, reorders are fast and easy, because we keep your artwork on file.

Shirt Hand-Out Questions

What is the best way to distribute t-shirts to a group?

Bag each person’s shirts ahead of time with their name on the bag, sort the bags, and have one person hand them out while checking names off the sign-up sheet.

How do I organize a group t-shirt order?

Keep one sign-up sheet with every name, size and quantity. Use it to place the order, to count the shirts when they arrive and to bag them for each person.

What should I do when my t-shirt order arrives?

Read the paperwork in the box, then count the shirts by size against your order before anyone takes one.

What if someone gets the wrong size?

Wait until every shirt has been handed out, then swap using your extras. If you need more, a small reorder is easy.

How many extra shirts should I order?

A few, in the larger sizes. People who are between sizes usually want the bigger one, and extras cover late sign-ups.
