ClassB VP Receives Silver Beaver Award from BSA!

Last Saturday, ClassB’s Vice President, Gregg Hilferding, received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America’s Gulf Ridge Council. The Silver Beaver is the highest recognition a council can present to an adult volunteer.
Many of you know Gregg because of the work he does with Scouting through ClassB. Outside of work, Gregg dedicates a great deal of his personal time to Scouting as a council volunteer. He has been the Gulf Ridge Council Advancement Chair since September 2010 and is a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association. Gregg is also a member of the Boy Scouts of America National Speaker Bank and regularly speaks to community organizations about Scouting.
From his young start as a Tiger Cub to becoming an Eagle Scout, Gregg has literally grown up in the Scouting program. He is an ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow and has attended both World and National Jamborees as a camper and staff member. Gregg has been an Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chair, Troop Committee member, Scoutmaster and an advisor to a new Venturing Crew.
On behalf of everyone at ClassB, we’d like to sincerely congratulate Gregg on this well deserved recognition. He is an inspiration to us all!
ClassB receives SHARP award from OSHA!

On Wednesday, March 5th, ClassB employees gathered in the production facility for a special recognition ceremony. An OSHA representative presented ClassB Safety Committee members with a SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) certificate and flag. There are currently only two other SHARP businesses in Tampa, of the forty-three total in the state of Florida. We are honored to have been recognized for inclusion in this program.In addition to our external efforts with our nonprofit customer groups, we pride ourselves in working hard internally to provide a safe and enjoyable workplace for our employees. ClassB Safety Committee members and supporting staff have gone to great lengths to meet and exceed safety and health regulations. To celebrate, officers and managers barbecued lunch and served the entire company!
We are lucky and proud to be a part of such a great team. A special THANK YOU to all our employees for making ClassB a great place to work!

ClassB Ultimate Pinewood Derby Experience Contest!

In the spirit of Pinewood Derby season, we thought it would be fun to share some photos from last year’s winners of our Ultimate Pinewood Derby Experience Contest. Featured in Scouting magazine and on scoutingmagazine.org, this contest gave packs all over the nation the chance to enter to win tons of race day licensed goods! Our third place winners, Pack 222, from Raleigh, NC, won custom t-shirts for their entire pack. They worked with our art department to design some beautiful full-color shirts that were a real crowd pleaser! The photos below were sent in by the Cubmaster, who was overjoyed to see all those smiling faces.
Our second place winners, Pack 3041, from Horseheads, NY, won custom shirts AND patches for their pack. The adult leaders decided to surprise the kids with the new shirts and patches on race day and they were ecstatic! See the photos they sent in below.
The real “Cinderella story” was our grand prize winners, Pack 79, from Glenmoore, PA. When this brand new pack was notified that they were selected at random as the grand prize winners of the contest they were beyond excited. They won custom shirts and patches as well as race day decorations from ClassB, a brand new track, timer and lift gate from SRM Enterprise’s Best Track and customized trophies from Red River Trophy & Engraving. Their Pinewood Derby was a shining success and the participants sent us an awesome hand signed thank you note with a group photo! See all their photos below.

ClassB @ 2013 S-4 Section Conference

Last weekend, we had the privilege of attending the S-4 Section Conference at Gulf Ridge Council‘s Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation in Lake Wales, Florida. Over 1,000 Arrowmen from all over the state gathered together to engage in training seminars, competitions and of course, fun and games!
We were HONORED to have been invited by the Seminole Lodge to exhibit during the Scout Expo on the most fun-filled day of the conference! Set up in Parade Field, the ClassB booth offered a two-fold program, from which participants could screen print awesome event designs onto their own t-shirts and could win fun prizes at the carnival-inspired toss game!
In between friendly tug-of-war matches and dodge ball tournaments, participants tagged their shirts with images of Baden Powell and the Order of the Arrow logo and won ClassB flying discs (back by popular demand) as well as wolf patches to add to their collectible series! JPR Images took some beautiful photos of the Section Conference and featured some great ones of our booth!
The icing on the cake was seeing the host council shirts that the Seminole Lodge ordered from us for the event! There were red shirts everywhere and they looked great!
A special THANK YOU to the Gulf Ridge Council for being our valued customers and for allowing us the opportunity to participate in your AMAZING event! We had a blast watching all the activities and enjoyed being a part of such a fun-filled day!

2012 Festival of Lights in Downtown Zephyrhills

Last year’s Festival of Lights event was such a delightful experience for our staff, we couldn’t wait to participate again this year! We decked our front patio in color and lights and invited the crowd in for some holiday fun! Local Boy Scout Troop 72 shared the day with us, graciously serving free hot chocolate and peppermint candy canes to all guests.
Kids between the ages of 5-17 had the chance to participate in our second annual ClassB® Holiday Drawing Contest. Similar to last year’s contest, each child’s drawing was entered for a chance to have their artwork printed on a souvenir t-shirt. We had over 20 instant winners and grand prize winners were selected from each age category, putting lots of smiles on already cheerful faces.
This year’s grand prize winners were:
Ages 5-9: Natalia
Ages 10-13: MaryLou
Ages 14-17: Jasmine
In addition to our contest, other daytime festivities included live song and dance performances, great food from local vendors and a chance to take a ride on a live elephant! Attendees gathered alongside the streets of 5th Avenue anxiously awaiting the holiday parade, which kicked off around 6pm offering merry entertainment for all.
We thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the kids and their families on this extra special day! It was a great way to jump start the holidays and we thank everyone who came by to participate this year!

Festival of Lights in Downtown Zephyrhills

This year’s Festival of Lights parade in downtown Zephyrhills kicked off the holiday season with some hometown family fun! It started off at 6pm with a parade and the events kept going until 9pm with a bounce house, raffles, and local dance performances for everyone to enjoy. There were even sightings of Santa, Elvis and clowns galore.
We’re located directly on 5th Avenue downtown, so we had a front row seat to all the festivities. This year we held our first ClassB® Holiday Drawing Contest. Talented kids between the ages of 5-17 gathered on our front patio to draw their very own holiday themed masterpiece. Each child’s drawing was entered into the contest for a chance to win their artwork printed on a t-shirt. Every child got a gift for participating and 15 young artists got their design printed on a t-shirt!
This year’s winners were:

Ages 10-13: Dominique
Ages 14-17: Chelsea
This year was so much fun, we hope to do it again next year.

At ClassB, we love talking about family reunions almost as much as we love talking about t-shirts. Why did your family decide to hold your first reunion? Was it some sort of event that brought everyone together? Or perhaps you just decided that it’s about time you all got together! Whatever the reason, we want to hear all about it.
To enter, just submit a brief essay explaining why you’ve decided to hold your first-ever family reunion, what types of events and activities you plan to do, and what things you’re looking forward to the most.
Our judges will choose one winning essay and the person who submitted it will receive a $500 ClassB Gift Card to use toward custom t-shirts for your first family reunion. So on top of starting a new family reunion tradition, you’ll be starting another tradition— awesome family t-shirts!

ClassB Wishes You A Happy And Safe Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is here.
For many, this day is about a turkey feast, football and relaxing with family and friends. But let’s not forget what this day really means. It is about reflecting on our lives and giving our thanks to those who help us, those who love us and those who give us that little push when we need it most.
For ClassB, those people are you, our dedicated and loyal customers. We are thankful to have you in our ClassB Family, and wish all of you a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Day is always a great opportunity to instill thanksgiving into the hearts of our children. In trying times, our children give us hope. Let’s give back to them today and teach them the joys and virtues of thanksgiving.
